An External Inverted Lug Circlip (also known as an inverted retaining ring or an external balanced lug circlip) is a specialized fastening component designed to fit into a groove on a shaft, featuring lugs that point inwards towards the groove rather than into the clearance path. This unique orientation provides a much higher clearance profile and continuous radial contact compared to standard circlips.

External Inverted (SHE / VSHE): These snap onto the outside of a shaft. The lugs face inward toward the center of the shaft, keeping the outer perimeter completely round and free from protrusions.
